About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled and innovative Online Learning Platform Developer to join their dynamic team on a contract basis. This remote role is central to the development and enhancement of cutting-edge digital educational tools used by students and educators globally. You will be responsible for designing, coding, testing, and deploying new features and improvements to the platform, ensuring a seamless and engaging user experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in web development and a passion for leveraging technology to transform education, working from anywhere in the world.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain user-friendly interfaces and interactive elements for the online learning platform using modern web technologies.
- Collaborate with instructional designers, subject matter experts, and project managers to translate educational requirements into functional platform features.
- Implement and integrate learning management system (LMS) functionalities, including course creation, progress tracking, and assessment tools.
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code, adhering to best practices for scalability and maintainability.
- Conduct thorough testing, debugging, and performance optimisation of platform components.
- Stay abreast of emerging trends in EdTech and online learning to propose innovative solutions.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a web developer, with a portfolio showcasing relevant projects, particularly in educational technology.
- Strong proficiency in front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, frameworks like React or Angular).
- Experience with back-end development (e.g., Python, Node.js, PHP) and database management (SQL, NoSQL).
- Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and e-learning standards (e.g., SCORM, xAPI).
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work independently in a remote setting.
