Operations Manager - FMCG Supply Chain

About the Role

Our client, a leading enterprise in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector, is seeking an experienced and highly organised Operations Manager to oversee their supply chain operations in Edinburgh . This hybrid role will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and cost-effective flow of goods from procurement to delivery, managing warehouse operations, logistics, and inventory control. You will play a critical role in optimising the supply chain to meet increasing demand, reduce lead times, and maintain the highest standards of product quality and customer service. This position demands strong leadership and a deep understanding of complex operational challenges.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and optimise all aspects of the FMCG supply chain , including warehousing, inventory, and logistics.
• Develop and implement operational strategies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service levels.
• Lead and motivate a team of supply chain professionals, fostering a culture of performance and continuous improvement.
• Oversee inventory management, ensuring optimal stock levels and minimising waste.
• Develop relationships with third-party logistics providers and suppliers.
• Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for operational efficiency and effectiveness.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and regulatory standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in operations and supply chain management , ideally within the FMCG industry .
• Proven track record of implementing successful operational improvements and cost-saving initiatives.
• Strong leadership, team management, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and ERP software.
