About the Role
Our client, a major player in the FMCG industry, is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Operations Manager to oversee their operations on a fully remote basis. This critical role is responsible for managing and optimizing all aspects of the supply chain, production planning, and logistics to ensure efficient and cost-effective delivery of products to market. You will drive continuous improvement initiatives, implement best practices, and foster a culture of operational excellence. The ideal candidate is a strategic leader with a strong understanding of FMCG operations and a proven ability to manage complex, geographically dispersed teams and processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage day-to-day operations, including supply chain management, inventory control, production scheduling, and logistics.
- Develop and implement strategic operational plans to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product quality for the FMCG business.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using methodologies such as Lean and Six Sigma to optimize processes.
- Manage relationships with key suppliers, logistics providers, and co-packers to ensure seamless operations.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the operations team, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Utilize data and analytics to monitor operational performance, identify trends, and implement corrective actions.
- Manage operational budgets and capital expenditure planning.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in operations management, with significant experience in the FMCG sector.
- Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale operations and driving significant improvements in efficiency and cost reduction.
- Strong leadership, team management, and people development skills.
- Expertise in supply chain optimization, logistics, inventory management, and production planning.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and operational performance management tools.
- Excellent problem-solving, strategic thinking, and decision-making abilities.
- Comfortable and effective working in a remote leadership capacity.
