Job Description
Have you managed a team of at least twenty people in a production or warehouse environment?
Do you know how to get the best out of a varied team of multiple different personalities?
Are you looking to progress your career into a more senior role?
This could be for you!
We are looking for an experienced Operations Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day running of assembly and warehouse activities for an established business. The successful candidate will be a confident, approachable and highly visible leader who can get the best out of people, maintain high standards and drive improvements across the operation. This is a role for someone who prefers being actively involved on the shop floor, rather than managing from behind a desk.
The business operates a straightforward final assembly process, combining externally sourced components into finished products, alongside warehouse activities covering stock control, goods in and dispatch. A key priority will be developing a positive, productive and accountable working culture, supporting team leaders and working directly with individual employees to improve performance and behaviour.
Operations Supervisor - Key responsibilities include:
Supervising assembly and warehouse teams to achieve productivity, quality and service targets.
Providing visible, hands-on leadership and building a positive, engaged and accountable culture.
Working closely with team leaders and individual operators to improve performance, standards and behaviour.
Addressing underperformance constructively, maintaining a firm but fair approach to management.
Coaching, motivating and developing employees to encourage teamwork and ownership.
Overseeing stock control, goods in, dispatch and the efficient movement of materials.
Identifying practical improvements to processes, productivity and operational efficiency.
Maintaining high standards of health and safety and housekeeping.
Operations Supervisor - About you:
Experience supervising or managing a reasonably sized team within assembly, production, warehousing or a similar environment.
A hands-on, approachable leader who enjoys working directly with shop floor employees.
Strong people management skills, including the confidence to challenge poor performance and behaviours.
A firm but fair management style, with the ability to build a positive and respectful workplace culture.
Experience improving team performance through coaching, communication and clear expectations.
A practical, down-to-earth personality with good organisational and problem-solving skills.
An understanding of warehouse operations, stock control and general operational efficiency.
This opportunity would suit an experienced Operations Supervisor, Production Supervisor, Assembly Supervisor or Warehouse Supervisor looking to take on broader operational responsibility.
Above all, we are seeking someone who leads by example, builds strong relationships with employees and takes genuine ownership of day-to-day team performance.
