Looking for an Optical Assistant Role Where You're Genuinely Valued?

At Inspired Recruitment Group, we understand that exploring a new job opportunity can feel like a big step. That's why we approach every conversation with care, confidentiality and absolutely no pressure.

If you're an experienced Optical Assistant looking for a fresh start in a supportive, well-established practice where your contribution is recognised and your development is encouraged, we'd love to hear from you.

The Opportunity

We're working with a successful, well-established optical practice looking to welcome an experienced Optical Assistant into its friendly and supportive team.

What really stands out is the working environment. The Directors are actively involved on the shop floor, working alongside their colleagues and creating a genuinely caring, approachable atmosphere.

This isn't a practice where you'll be constantly chased for individual sales targets. Instead, the focus is on delivering excellent patient care, supporting one another and achieving success as a team.

What's on Offer?

• Salary of £25,200 - £27,500, depending on experience and qualifications.
• Monthly store bonus
• Full-time, permanent position.
• Genuine opportunities for career progression.
• Pension scheme.
• Annual recognition gift after 12 months' service.

The Role

As an Optical Assistant, you'll play an important part in delivering an excellent patient experience from the moment someone enters the practice.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Welcoming patients and supporting them throughout their visit.
• Carrying out pre-screening and supporting the clinical team.
• Advising patients on suitable frames, lenses and optical products.
• Dispensing spectacles based on individual prescriptions, lifestyles and budgets.
• Fitting, adjusting and repairing spectacles.
• Supporting collections and providing excellent aftercare.
• Assisting with general practice duties and the smooth running of the store.
• Working closely with Optometrists, Dispensing Opticians and fellow Optical Assistants.
• Contributing to the overall performance of the practice without the pressure of individual sales targets.

The role offers plenty of variety, with Optical Assistants involved in the complete patient journey rather than being restricted to dispensing alone.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who enjoys working with patients, takes pride in their dispensing skills and wants to be part of a genuinely supportive team.

Ideally, you'll have:

• At least 12 months' experience working as an Optical Assistant, preferably two years or more.
• Good knowledge of spectacle dispensing, frames and lenses.
• Confidence communicating with patients and recommending suitable optical solutions.
• A friendly, professional and approachable manner.
• A willingness to get involved in all aspects of practice life.
• A positive attitude towards learning and developing new skills.
• Flexibility to work either Saturday or Sunday.

A Practice That Invests in Its People

One of the biggest attractions of this opportunity is the genuine focus on staff development.

Whether you're happy being an excellent Optical Assistant or have ambitions to become a Dispensing Optician or move into management, there are opportunities to progress.

You'll be joining a business where the Directors are approachable, colleagues support one another and your contribution is recognised.
