Key Responsibilities

• Design and plan scalable optical networks using DWDM, OTN, and other advanced transport technologies.
• Configure, deploy, and troubleshoot optical network elements from various vendors.
• Monitor network performance, analyse traffic patterns, and optimize network capacity and resilience.
• Develop and maintain network documentation, including detailed design specifications and operational procedures.
• Collaborate with field operations teams to ensure successful network implementation and maintenance.
• Research and evaluate new optical technologies and vendor solutions to improve network capabilities and efficiency.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Optical Network Engineer or in a similar role focused on optical transport networks.
• Strong knowledge of DWDM, ROADM, OTN, Ethernet over SONET/SDH, and other relevant optical transmission technologies.
• Experience with network planning tools and capacity management software.
• Familiarity with optical test equipment and fibre optic network testing methodologies.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a remote setting.
• Relevant degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
