About the Role
Our client is looking for a specialist Passivhaus Designer to join their forward-thinking architectural team in Portsmouth . This role is dedicated to designing and delivering highly energy-efficient buildings that meet the rigorous standards of the Passivhaus certification. You will be responsible for integrating Passivhaus principles into architectural designs, performing energy modelling, and coordinating with consultants to ensure optimal performance and sustainability. Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop architectural plans and specifications for Passivhaus certified buildings.
- Conduct energy modelling and simulations using PHPP (Passivhaus Planning Package) and other tools.
- Advise on materials, construction techniques, and building systems to achieve Passivhaus performance targets.
- Collaborate with engineers and contractors to ensure the correct implementation of sustainable design strategies.
- Prepare documentation required for Passivhaus certification and other sustainability accreditations.
- Stay updated on the latest research, technologies, and best practices in low-energy building design.
Requirements
- Certified Passivhaus Designer or Consultant (e.g., from AECB, Passivhaus Institut).
- Proven experience in designing and delivering low-energy or Passivhaus projects.
- Strong understanding of building physics, thermal performance, and airtightness principles.
- Proficiency with energy modelling software (PHPP essential).
- Knowledge of sustainable building materials and technologies.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
