About the Role
Our client is looking for a talented and dedicated Pastry Chef De Partie to join a busy kitchen team in a reputable hotel in Birmingham . You will be responsible for the preparation and execution of a wide range of desserts, pastries, and baked goods for both restaurant and event service. This role is ideal for an individual with a keen eye for detail, a passion for creating exquisite desserts, and the ability to work efficiently in a demanding environment, contributing to the overall dining excellence of the establishment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of high-quality desserts, pastries, breads, and confections according to established recipes and standards.
- Manage your specific section of the pastry kitchen, ensuring all mise en place is prepared efficiently.
- Maintain immaculate cleanliness and organization of your workstation and equipment.
- Assist with inventory control and stock rotation for pastry ingredients.
- Collaborate with the Head Pastry Chef and Sous Chef on menu development and new dessert creations.
- Ensure all food safety and hygiene regulations are strictly adhered to within the pastry section.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef De Partie or commis chef with a strong focus on pastry.
- Solid understanding of pastry techniques, ingredients, and baking principles.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced kitchen.
- Excellent attention to detail and a passion for presentation.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, as required by the business needs in Birmingham .
