About the Role
Our client requires a skilled Payroll Accountant to oversee the accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees, based in their Stoke-on-Trent office. This role involves managing payroll calculations, deductions, statutory payments, and ensuring compliance with current legislation. You will play a critical role in employee compensation, working within a team that supports the wider financial operations of the company.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end payroll processing for a designated number of employees.
- Calculate wages, deductions, and statutory payments accurately.
- Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations, PAYE, and National Insurance contributions.
- Process new starters, leavers, and any amendments to employee records.
- Reconcile payroll data and prepare reports for finance and management.
- Respond to employee queries regarding pay and deductions.
- Assist with year-end payroll procedures, including P60s and P11Ds.
Requirements
- Proven experience in payroll processing and administration.
- Knowledge of UK payroll legislation, PAYE, and statutory calculations.
- Proficiency with payroll software (e.g., Sage Payroll, Xero Payroll) and Microsoft Excel .
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data handling.
- Good organizational skills and ability to manage deadlines effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, particularly when dealing with sensitive payroll information.
