About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Payroll Administrator to manage the accurate and timely processing of payroll for their employees in Sunderland . This hybrid role offers a balanced approach to work, allowing for both office-based collaboration and remote flexibility. You will be responsible for ensuring all payroll-related queries are handled efficiently and that statutory deductions and payments are correctly administered. This is a vital role in ensuring employee satisfaction and compliance with all relevant payroll legislation, contributing to the smooth operational functioning of the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Process weekly or monthly payroll accurately, ensuring all calculations are correct.
- Manage new starter and leaver processes, including P45 and P60 generation.
- Ensure all statutory deductions (e.g., PAYE, NI) are calculated and paid on time.
- Respond to employee payroll queries in a professional and timely manner.
- Maintain accurate employee records and update payroll system information as needed.
- Assist with payroll reconciliations and support year-end payroll procedures.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a payroll administration role is essential.
- Knowledge of current UK payroll legislation and statutory requirements.
- Proficiency with payroll software (e.g., Sage Payroll, Xero Payroll) and MS Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
