About the Role
Our client is looking for a precise and reliable Payroll Administrator to manage their payroll processes on a fully remote basis. This role is essential for ensuring that all employees are paid accurately and on time, in compliance with UK payroll legislation. You will be responsible for the entire payroll cycle, from data entry to issuing pay slips and managing statutory deductions, working autonomously within a supportive virtual team.
Key Responsibilities
- Process weekly or monthly payroll accurately and efficiently using payroll software.
- Manage new starter and leaver processes, including calculating final pay.
- Ensure all statutory deductions (Tax, National Insurance, pensions) are calculated and processed correctly.
- Respond to employee queries regarding payroll and expenses.
- Maintain accurate employee payroll records and update changes as necessary.
- Liaise with HMRC and pension providers as required.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Payroll Administrator or in a similar payroll processing role.
- In-depth knowledge of UK payroll legislation, PAYE, and statutory reporting.
- Proficiency with payroll software (e.g., Sage Payroll, Xero Payroll, BrightPay).
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data handling.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality in a remote setting.
