About the Role
Our client is looking for a dedicated and experienced Payroll Administrator to manage their payroll processes efficiently from their office in Southampton . This role is critical in ensuring that all employees are paid accurately and on time, adhering to current legislation. You will be responsible for processing payroll data, managing statutory deductions, and providing support to employees regarding payroll queries. This is a vital position within the HR and Finance departments, requiring a high level of accuracy, confidentiality, and a strong understanding of payroll systems and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Process weekly or monthly payroll for all employees accurately and within strict deadlines.
- Calculate and process statutory deductions, including PAYE, National Insurance, and pensions.
- Manage new starter and leaver processes, ensuring all necessary documentation is collected and processed.
- Respond to employee queries regarding payroll, providing clear and concise information.
- Maintain accurate and confidential payroll records in line with data protection regulations.
- Liaise with HMRC and pension providers as required.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a payroll administration role.
- Proficiency with payroll software (e.g., Sage Payroll, Xero Payroll, or similar).
- Up-to-date knowledge of current payroll legislation and statutory requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Discretion and the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
