About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and ethical Penetration Tester to join their dedicated cybersecurity team in Stoke-on-Trent . In this role, you will be responsible for simulating cyberattacks on the organization's systems and networks to identify vulnerabilities before malicious actors can exploit them. You will conduct rigorous testing, document your findings meticulously, and provide actionable recommendations to enhance the company's security defenses. Key Responsibilities

• Perform external and internal penetration tests on networks, systems, and applications.
• Identify vulnerabilities and security weaknesses through various testing methodologies.
• Utilize a range of penetration testing tools and techniques.
• Document detailed findings, including technical details, impact, and remediation recommendations.
• Collaborate with IT and security teams to validate findings and track remediation efforts.
• Stay current with the latest attack vectors, exploits, and security trends.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience performing penetration testing engagements.
• Proficiency with common penetration testing tools (e.g., Metasploit, Burp Suite, Nmap).
• Strong understanding of networking protocols, operating systems, and web application security.
• Ability to clearly articulate technical risks to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Relevant certifications such as CEH, OSCP, or Security+ are a plus.
