About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Penetration Tester to join their dedicated security team in Plymouth . This role focuses on proactively identifying vulnerabilities within our client's systems, networks, and applications through ethical hacking techniques. You will be instrumental in assessing our security posture and providing actionable recommendations to strengthen defenses. The position requires a meticulous approach, a deep understanding of attack methodologies, and a commitment to improving our client's overall cybersecurity resilience.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive penetration tests on web applications, networks, and mobile applications.
- Perform vulnerability assessments and identify exploitable weaknesses.
- Develop detailed reports outlining findings, risks, and remediation recommendations.
- Simulate real-world attack scenarios to test the effectiveness of security controls.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest penetration testing tools, techniques, and industry trends.
- Collaborate with development and IT teams to discuss findings and assist with remediation efforts.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 2-4 years of professional experience in penetration testing or ethical hacking.
- Proficiency with various penetration testing tools (e.g., Metasploit, Burp Suite, Nmap).
- Strong understanding of network protocols, web application security, and common vulnerabilities (OWASP Top 10).
- Ability to document findings clearly and concisely.
- Relevant certifications such as OSCP, CEH, or CompTIA PenTest+ are highly advantageous.
