About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and ethical Penetration Tester to join their dedicated security assurance team. Operating with a hybrid model from their Plymouth office, you will be instrumental in proactively identifying vulnerabilities within our client's systems and applications before malicious actors can exploit them. Your expertise will directly contribute to strengthening our security defenses and ensuring the resilience of critical digital infrastructure. Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive penetration tests on web applications, networks, and mobile applications.
• Identify, analyze, and document security vulnerabilities and weaknesses using industry-standard methodologies.
• Develop detailed reports outlining findings, risk levels, and practical remediation recommendations.
• Utilize a variety of penetration testing tools and techniques, including exploit frameworks and scripting.
• Conduct security research to stay updated on the latest attack vectors and vulnerabilities.
• Collaborate with development and IT teams to communicate findings and support remediation efforts.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
• 2-4 years of experience in professional penetration testing or vulnerability assessment.
• Proficiency with common penetration testing tools (e.g., Burp Suite, Metasploit, Nmap).
• Understanding of web application security, network protocols, and common vulnerabilities (e.g., OWASP Top 10).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Relevant certifications such as OSCP, CEH, or CompTIA Security+ are highly desirable.
