Job Description
People Advisor Location: LE4 Salary: Up to £38,000 per annum Contract: 12 Month Fixed term contract
SF Recruitment is recruiting for a People Advisor to join an established manufacturing business on a 12 month fixed-term contract.
This is a varied, hands-on generalist role, working closely with the People Lead and wider People Team. You'll provide practical HR advice, manage employee relations cases and support managers across the business.
A key part of the role will be coaching managers to build their confidence and capability, helping them take greater ownership of people matters within their teams. You'll also have the opportunity to support business change and projects involving HR and payroll systems.
The role
- Manage disciplinary and grievance cases from start to finish, providing clear advice and guidance to managers.
- Support short and long term absence management, working with Occupational Health where needed.
- Advise managers and employees on employment matters, including family leave and flexible working.
- Coach managers on people processes, decision making and effective team management.
- Work with the central recruitment team to support recruitment activity.
- Support business change and wider People Team projects.
- Produce and interpret HR data, including absence and health surveillance reporting, highlighting trends and recommending actions.
- Complete quarterly and annual compliance audits for the on-site recruitment agency.
- Work with Learning and Development colleagues to identify training needs and improve manager capability.
About you
- Previous experience in a similar HR advisory role, ideally with at least two to three years' relevant experience.
- A broad generalist HR background and confidence managing varied employee relations cases.
- Experience within food manufacturing or a manufacturing environment.
- CIPD Level 5 qualified, working towards the qualification, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong relationship-building skills and the confidence to advise and constructively challenge managers.
- Good organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities independently.
- Experience using HR or payroll systems and turning data into useful reports.
- Confident using Microsoft Office and Excel; pivot tables and VLOOKUP skills would be beneficial.
If you enjoy a busy operational HR role where you can build relationships, support managers and get involved in practical people projects, we'd love to hear from you.
