About the Role

Our client is seeking a meticulous and customer-centric Personal Lines Underwriter to join their busy team in Portsmouth . You will review applications, apply underwriting guidelines, and make informed decisions to protect the company from adverse selection. Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate and underwrite new personal lines insurance applications (e.g., home, motor, travel).
• Apply underwriting guidelines and authority levels to assess risks and determine policy terms.
• Communicate decisions and requirements clearly to brokers and internal teams.
• Identify and escalate complex or unusual risks for referral to senior underwriters.
• Monitor the performance of your underwriting portfolio and contribute to profitability targets.
• Assist in the development and refinement of underwriting rules and procedures.

Requirements

• Previous experience in personal lines insurance underwriting or a related role.
