Petroleum Engineer

About the Role

Our client is actively seeking a dedicated Petroleum Engineer to contribute to their upstream operations, working remotely with occasional visits to their Sunderland hub. This role focuses on optimizing hydrocarbon recovery from reservoirs through technical analysis and strategic production planning. You will analyze production data, evaluate reservoir performance, and recommend enhancements to maximize asset value. Key Responsibilities

• Monitoring and analyzing well and reservoir performance data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
• Developing and implementing production optimization strategies, including artificial lift and stimulation techniques.
• Conducting economic evaluations for workover candidates and recompletion opportunities.
• Collaborating with reservoir engineers and geologists to ensure integrated field development and management.
• Preparing production forecasts and reporting on asset performance to management.
• Staying abreast of new technologies and methodologies in petroleum engineering.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in a petroleum engineering role, with a focus on production operations.
• Proficiency in production logging, nodal analysis, and artificial lift systems (e.g., ESPs, gas lift).
• Experience with reservoir simulation software and production databases.
• Strong analytical and data interpretation skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a remote setting and manage time efficiently.
