Upstream Petroleum Engineer

About the Role

Our client is recruiting an enthusiastic Upstream Petroleum Engineer to join their growing team in Liverpool, Merseyside . This role focuses on optimizing the production and recovery of oil and gas from existing reservoirs. You will be involved in analyzing well performance, identifying opportunities for intervention and enhancement, and contributing to the development of field production strategies. Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze the performance of oil and gas wells and production facilities.
• Identify and evaluate opportunities for well interventions , workovers, and artificial lift optimization.
• Perform material balance calculations and decline curve analysis to forecast future production.
• Support the development and implementation of enhanced oil recovery (EOR) projects.
• Collaborate with reservoir engineers, geologists, and operations staff to develop integrated field development plans.
• Prepare technical reports and present findings and recommendations to management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• 2-4 years of experience in upstream petroleum engineering , production engineering, or reservoir engineering.
• Familiarity with well performance analysis and production optimization techniques.
• Understanding of artificial lift systems (e.g., ESPs, rod pumps, gas lift).
• Proficiency with relevant petroleum engineering software and data analysis tools.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
