About the Role
Our client seeks a highly skilled Petroleum Geologist to join their exploration and production team in Leeds, West Yorkshire, UK . This role is instrumental in identifying and evaluating potential hydrocarbon resources. You will be responsible for geological analysis, basin modeling, and prospect generation, contributing directly to the company's growth strategy in the Oil & Gas industry . Key Responsibilities
- Interpret seismic data, well logs, and core samples to understand subsurface geological structures and stratigraphy.
- Develop and refine geological models of sedimentary basins and potential reservoir formations.
- Identify, evaluate, and rank exploration prospects for drilling.
- Collaborate with reservoir engineers and geophysicists to integrate geological data into field development plans.
- Prepare geological reports and present findings to management and technical teams.
- Stay abreast of new geological technologies and methodologies relevant to hydrocarbon exploration.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Geology, Geophysics, or a related earth science discipline.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in petroleum exploration geology within the Oil & Gas sector .
- Proficiency in seismic interpretation software (e.g., Petrel, Kingdom Suite) and geological modeling tools.
- Strong understanding of sedimentology, stratigraphy, structural geology, and basin analysis.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Effective communication and presentation abilities, particularly for geological concepts in Leeds .
