About the Role
Our client is looking for a strategic and driven Pharmaceutical Business Development Manager to join their globally-focused team, operating primarily remotely. This role is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and executing strategic partnerships, licensing opportunities, and acquisition targets within the pharmaceutical and biotech sectors. You will leverage your market expertise and network to drive company growth and expand our client's therapeutic pipeline and market presence. This is a key position for an individual with a strong commercial acumen and a passion for shaping the future of the pharmaceutical industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and evaluate potential business development opportunities, including in-licensing, out-licensing, co-development, and M&A activities.
- Conduct market analysis, competitive intelligence, and due diligence for potential partnerships and transactions.
- Lead negotiations for deal structuring, term sheets, and definitive agreements.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with potential partners, key opinion leaders, and industry stakeholders.
- Collaborate with internal R&D, commercial, legal, and finance teams to assess strategic fit and feasibility of opportunities.
- Prepare business cases, presentations, and financial models to support decision-making for business development initiatives.
Requirements
- MBA or advanced degree (e.g., Ph.D., Pharm.D.) in a relevant scientific or business discipline.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in business development, strategic alliances, or corporate ventures within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
- Proven track record of successfully executing complex deals and partnerships.
- Deep understanding of the pharmaceutical value chain, market dynamics, and therapeutic areas.
- Exceptional negotiation, financial modeling, and strategic thinking skills.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote setting.
