Pharmaceutical Process Development Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and innovative Pharmaceutical Process Development Engineer to join their globally distributed team, working remotely. This role is focused on the design, optimization, and scale-up of manufacturing processes for new pharmaceutical products. You will apply your engineering expertise to ensure that processes are robust, efficient, cost-effective, and compliant with all regulatory standards. Collaborating closely with formulation scientists, analytical chemists, and manufacturing teams, you will be instrumental in translating laboratory innovations into viable commercial manufacturing operations, all within a flexible, remote work setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize manufacturing processes for pharmaceutical drug products, from lab scale to pilot and commercial scale.
• Conduct process risk assessments and implement control strategies to ensure process consistency and product quality.
• Design and execute experimental plans to evaluate process parameters and identify critical process controls.
• Prepare detailed process development reports, technology transfer documentation, and validation protocols.
• Troubleshoot process-related issues and implement solutions to improve efficiency and yield.
• Liaise with equipment vendors and engineering teams to ensure appropriate technology selection and implementation.

Requirements

• Master's degree or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in process development within the pharmaceutical industry.
• Strong understanding of chemical engineering principles, process scale-up, and GMP manufacturing.
• Experience with various pharmaceutical dosage forms and manufacturing technologies.
• Proficiency in process modeling and simulation software is an advantage.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills, with the ability to work independently.
