Pharmaceutical Process Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a skilled Pharmaceutical Process Engineer to enhance their manufacturing operations in Derby . This role is critical for ensuring the efficiency, safety, and compliance of our pharmaceutical production processes. You will be involved in designing, implementing, and optimising manufacturing equipment and systems, troubleshooting operational issues, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess a strong engineering background and a thorough understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing principles and GMP requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimise pharmaceutical manufacturing processes and equipment.
• Develop and execute validation protocols (IQ, OQ, PQ) for new and modified equipment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to manufacturing processes and equipment.
• Ensure all processes comply with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and relevant regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with Quality Assurance, Production, and Maintenance teams to maintain operational excellence.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement to enhance yield, efficiency, and reduce costs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in process engineering within the pharmaceutical or related industry.
• Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment and technologies (e.g., reactors, filtration, drying).
• Experience with process validation, GMP compliance, and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills.
• Proficiency in process simulation and design software is a plus.
