Pharmaceutical Process Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Pharmaceutical Process Engineer to join their innovative manufacturing team in Derby . This role is essential for designing, optimizing, and scaling up pharmaceutical manufacturing processes to ensure efficiency, quality, and compliance. You will work on projects ranging from new product introductions to continuous improvement initiatives for existing processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong engineering background coupled with a deep understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing principles and regulatory expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes for pharmaceutical products, ensuring scalability and robustness.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to manufacturing operations, equipment, and processes.
• Develop and execute process validation protocols and reports in compliance with cGMP requirements.
• Implement process improvements to enhance yield, reduce costs, and improve product quality.
• Collaborate with R&D, quality assurance, and production teams to facilitate technology transfer and new product introductions.
• Ensure all engineering activities comply with safety regulations and environmental standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in process engineering within the pharmaceutical industry .
• Solid understanding of pharmaceutical unit operations (e.g., granulation, blending, tablet compression, sterile filling).
• Experience with process validation, scale-up, and technology transfer.
• Knowledge of Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and regulatory compliance.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
