Pharmaceutical Quality Control Analyst

About the Role

Our client seeks a detail-oriented and technically proficient Pharmaceutical Quality Control Analyst to join their Quality Assurance department in Cardiff . In this vital role, you will perform a range of analytical tests on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products to ensure they meet stringent quality specifications and regulatory standards. Your work will directly contribute to the safety and efficacy of pharmaceutical products reaching patients. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct routine and non-routine analytical testing of raw materials, intermediates, and finished pharmaceutical products using various laboratory techniques (e.g., HPLC, GC, UV-Vis spectroscopy, Karl Fischer titration).
• Perform method validation and instrument calibration according to established procedures and regulatory guidelines.
• Accurately record, review, and report test results, ensuring compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
• Investigate out-of-specification (OOS) results, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
• Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure adequate inventory of reagents and consumables.
• Participate in internal and external audits and inspections related to quality control operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Pharmacy, Biochemistry, or a related scientific discipline.
• Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in a pharmaceutical quality control laboratory setting.
• Proficiency in operating and maintaining analytical instruments such as HPLC, GC, dissolution apparatus, and spectrophotometers.
• Strong understanding of GMP, GLP, and relevant pharmaceutical quality standards.
• Excellent attention to detail, data integrity, and documentation skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team in Cardiff .
