About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Pipeline Integrity Engineer to join their asset management team in Plymouth . This role is vital for ensuring the safe and reliable operation of oil and gas pipelines, focusing on integrity assessment, risk management, and regulatory compliance. You will work with a team of specialists to monitor pipeline health, plan maintenance, and implement strategies to prevent failures. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with a strong background in materials science and mechanical engineering to contribute to the safe transportation of energy resources in the Devon region, with a flexible hybrid work arrangement.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement pipeline integrity management plans (PIMPs).
- Conduct risk assessments and fitness-for-service evaluations for pipeline assets.
- Oversee inline inspection (ILI) programs and analyze inspection data.
- Recommend and manage preventative and corrective maintenance activities for pipelines.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Liaise with operations, maintenance, and third-party inspection agencies.
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in pipeline integrity management or a related field.
- Strong understanding of pipeline materials, corrosion, NDT methods, and risk assessment techniques.
- Proficiency with pipeline integrity software and standards (e.g., ASME B31.8, DNVGL-RP-G101).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid team environment in Plymouth .
