Pipeline Integrity Engineer

About the Role

Our client seeks a diligent Pipeline Integrity Engineer to join their technical department in Wolverhampton, West Midlands . This role is essential for ensuring the safe, reliable, and compliant operation of their extensive pipeline network. You will be responsible for assessing pipeline condition, developing maintenance strategies, and implementing preventative measures against corrosion and mechanical damage. This position requires a strong technical background and a proactive approach to asset management, contributing significantly to the longevity and safety of critical energy infrastructure, working within a hybrid model that balances office collaboration with remote flexibility.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive pipeline integrity management plans and strategies.
• Conduct risk-based assessments to identify and prioritize potential pipeline threats, including corrosion, erosion, and mechanical damage.
• Specify and oversee inline inspection (ILI) programs, analyzing data from smart pigs and other NDT methods.
• Monitor and assess pipeline operating conditions and historical data to ensure compliance with regulations.
• Manage corrosion control programs, including cathodic protection and coating integrity.
• Prepare technical reports, recommendations, and maintenance forecasts for management review.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in pipeline integrity engineering , asset management, or related fields within the energy sector.
• Thorough understanding of pipeline failure mechanisms, corrosion principles, and NDT techniques.
• Familiarity with relevant industry codes and standards (e.g., API, ASME, ERS).
• Experience with pipeline integrity software and data analysis.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
