Plant Chemical Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and experienced Plant Chemical Engineer to join their operational team in Bristol . This on-site role is critical for ensuring the reliable, safe, and efficient operation of the manufacturing plant. You will be involved in process optimization, troubleshooting, and implementing engineering solutions to enhance production capacity and product quality. This position requires a hands-on approach and a strong understanding of chemical processes and plant equipment. You will work closely with operations personnel, maintenance, and EHS teams to achieve plant objectives and maintain high standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and optimize the performance of chemical plant equipment and processes.
• Troubleshoot operational issues and implement root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
• Develop and manage engineering projects focused on improving efficiency, safety, and reliability.
• Ensure compliance with all environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations and company policies.
• Support process safety management (PSM) initiatives and conduct risk assessments.
• Collaborate with maintenance teams to schedule and execute planned shutdowns and turnarounds.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a chemical plant or manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in process control systems and troubleshooting complex operational issues.
• Solid understanding of chemical engineering principles, including thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and reaction kinetics.
• Experience with HAZOP studies and other safety assessment techniques.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective teamwork.
