About the Role
Our client is looking for a specialized Power Systems Electrical Engineer to join their innovative team in Bristol . This role is focused on the design, analysis, and implementation of robust power systems, including generation, transmission, distribution, and protection. You will play a vital role in ensuring the stability, efficiency, and reliability of electrical power infrastructure. The hybrid work model allows for on-site collaboration with project teams and clients, balanced with focused remote analysis and design work. Key Responsibilities
- Design and analyze electrical power systems, including load flow studies, short-circuit analysis, and stability assessments.
- Develop protection schemes and coordinate relays for power systems.
- Specify and select power system equipment such as transformers, switchgear, and generators.
- Prepare technical reports, specifications, and drawings for power system projects.
- Collaborate with project managers, grid operators, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
- Ensure designs comply with national and international power system standards and regulations.
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power Systems.
- Substantial experience in power system analysis, design, and protection.
- Proficiency with power system analysis software (e.g., PSS/E, ETAP, DIgSILENT PowerFactory).
- Strong understanding of electrical grid operations and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid environment.
- Relevant professional certifications are highly desirable.
