About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Power Systems Electrical Engineer to join their team based in Stoke-on-Trent . This role is critical for the design, analysis, and implementation of robust electrical power systems. You will work on projects that ensure the reliable and efficient distribution of power, contributing to the stability and growth of our infrastructure. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with project managers, field engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions. Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop electrical power distribution systems, including substations, switchgear, and protection schemes.
- Perform load flow analysis, fault studies, and stability analysis for power systems.
- Specify and select electrical equipment such as transformers, circuit breakers, and generators.
- Develop project specifications, technical reports, and construction drawings.
- Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of power systems.
- Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards, codes, and safety regulations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power Systems.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the design and analysis of electrical power systems.
- Proficiency in power system analysis software (e.g., ETAP, PSS/E, DIgSILENT PowerFactory).
- Strong understanding of power generation, transmission, and distribution principles.
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards (e.g., IEC, IEEE).
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with good communication abilities.
