About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Power Systems Engineer to join their innovative team, contributing to the design and development of electrical power infrastructure from their Bristol base. This role is essential for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of power systems across various projects, including grid connections, distributed generation, and energy storage solutions. You will be involved in complex technical challenges, leveraging your expertise to model, analyze, and optimize power system performance. Key Responsibilities

Perform power system studies, including load flow, short circuit, stability, and protection coordination analysis.
Design and specify electrical equipment for substations, transmission lines, and distribution networks.
Develop protection schemes and settings for generators, transformers, and transmission lines.
Contribute to the planning and integration of renewable energy sources into the power grid.
Prepare technical reports, specifications, and design documentation.
Collaborate with project teams, clients, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance and successful project delivery.

Requirements

Degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power Systems.
Demonstrated experience in power system analysis and design using industry-standard software (e.g., PSS/E, ETAP, PSCAD).
Strong understanding of power system fundamentals, grid codes, and relevant standards.
Experience with renewable energy integration and distributed generation technologies is highly desirable.
Excellent analytical skills and ability to solve complex engineering problems.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
