This role focuses on implementing and managing advanced technologies such as GPS, sensors, drones, and data analytics to optimize crop yields, resource efficiency, and sustainability. You will work closely with farm managers and agronomists to interpret data and deploy tailored solutions. Key Responsibilities
- Install, calibrate, and maintain precision agriculture equipment, including GPS guidance systems, variable rate applicators, and soil sensors.
- Collect, manage, and analyze data from various precision agriculture sources to inform farm management decisions.
- Develop site-specific management zones for variable rate application of fertilizers, seeds, and crop protection products.
- Operate and interpret data from drones for crop monitoring, mapping, and analysis.
- Provide training and support to farm staff on the use of precision agriculture technologies.
- Evaluate new technologies and tools to improve farm efficiency and sustainability.
Requirements
- Degree in Agricultural Science, Agronomy, Agricultural Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience with precision agriculture technologies and data management systems.
- Proficiency in using GIS software, farm management information systems, and data analysis tools.
- Strong understanding of crop production, soil science, and the application of technology in agriculture.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to effectively train and collaborate with team members.
