About the Role

Our client seeks a highly skilled Precision Agriculture Specialist to advise on advanced farming techniques across various agricultural sites in and around Belfast . This role focuses on leveraging technology, such as GPS, sensors, drones, and data analytics, to optimize farm operations, improve resource efficiency, and enhance crop yields. You will be instrumental in helping farmers adopt and utilize cutting-edge precision agriculture tools and methodologies. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background combined with practical agricultural knowledge, enabling them to translate complex data into actionable insights for farming businesses. This position is crucial for driving innovation and sustainability in the agricultural sector in Northern Ireland .

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and manage precision farming technologies , including GPS guidance systems, variable rate application, and sensor networks.
• Collect, analyze, and interpret data from various sources (e.g., yield monitors, soil sensors, satellite imagery) to inform management decisions.
• Develop customized farm management plans that incorporate precision agriculture techniques for optimal resource allocation.
• Provide technical support and training to farmers on the use of precision agriculture equipment and software.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of implemented technologies and recommend adjustments for continuous improvement.
• Research and recommend new technologies and best practices in precision agriculture.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Engineering, Agronomy, Data Science, or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience with precision agriculture systems and software (e.g., John Deere Operations Center, Climate FieldView).
• Strong data analysis skills and proficiency with GIS and data visualization tools.
• Familiarity with drone technology for agricultural surveying and data collection.
• Excellent communication skills to explain complex technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
