About the Role

Our client is looking for a technically skilled Precision Agriculture Technician to support their advanced farming operations based near Leeds . This hybrid role involves the implementation, maintenance, and operation of precision agriculture technologies, including GPS guidance systems, variable rate applicators, and data management software. You will be instrumental in helping farmers maximize efficiency, reduce input costs, and improve crop yields through data-driven insights. This position requires a blend of technical expertise and practical agricultural knowledge, contributing to the adoption of innovative farming methods.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, calibrate, and maintain precision farming equipment, such as GPS receivers and sensors.
• Operate farm machinery equipped with precision agriculture technology during planting, spraying, and harvesting.
• Collect, manage, and analyze field data using specialized software platforms.
• Provide technical support and training to farm staff on the use of precision agriculture tools.
• Assist in the development of field maps and variable rate prescriptions.
• Troubleshoot technical issues with precision agriculture systems in the field.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a technician or operator in precision agriculture or a related field.
• Strong understanding of GPS, GIS, sensor technology, and agricultural data management.
• Familiarity with various farm machinery and implement controls.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and data reports.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• A degree or diploma in Agriculture, Agricultural Technology, or a related field is advantageous.
