About the Role
Our client is looking for a detail-oriented Precision Instrument Technician to join their technical team in Sheffield . This role is vital for ensuring the accuracy and reliability of sophisticated scientific and industrial instruments used in research and development, quality control, and manufacturing processes. You will be responsible for the calibration, maintenance, and repair of these sensitive instruments, requiring a methodical approach and a strong understanding of metrology and electronic systems. Key Responsibilities
- Perform calibration, testing, and certification of precision measuring instruments according to established standards.
- Conduct routine maintenance and preventative servicing on a variety of complex instruments.
- Diagnose and repair instrument malfunctions, identifying faulty components and implementing fixes.
- Maintain detailed records of all calibration activities, instrument history, and maintenance performed.
- Ensure all calibration activities comply with relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in the selection and implementation of new instrumentation and calibration procedures.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Instrument Technician, Calibration Technician, or in a similar precision maintenance role.
- Strong understanding of metrology principles and calibration techniques.
- Proficiency in using calibration equipment and diagnostic tools.
- Knowledge of electronic and mechanical systems related to instrumentation.
- Excellent attention to detail and methodical approach to tasks.
- Ability to interpret technical specifications and standards.
