About the Role
Our client is seeking a meticulous and technically adept Precision Instrument Technician to join their team in Oxford . This role focuses on the installation, calibration, maintenance, and repair of highly sensitive scientific and measurement instruments used in research and development environments. You will ensure the accuracy and reliability of critical equipment, playing a vital role in scientific advancements supported by our client's Installation & Maintenance services. This position requires a keen eye for detail and a methodical approach, working with cutting-edge technology in the vibrant scientific community of Oxford .
Key Responsibilities
- Install, set up, and configure precision instruments and analytical equipment.
- Perform regular calibration and verification of instruments to ensure accuracy and compliance with standards.
- Conduct preventative maintenance and troubleshoot technical issues on sophisticated equipment.
- Repair faulty instruments, replacing components and performing necessary adjustments.
- Maintain detailed records of calibration, maintenance, and repair activities.
- Liaise with instrument manufacturers and suppliers for technical support and parts.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Instrument Technician, preferably in a scientific or technical environment.
- Strong understanding of calibration procedures and metrology principles.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and specialised test equipment.
- Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- A relevant technical qualification in electronics, engineering, or a related field.
