Primary Learning Support Assistant (LSA)

Primary Learning Support Assistant (LSA)

Swansea | £14.25 Per Hour | Full-Time & Part-Time Opportunities

Looking for more than just a job?

We're recruiting Learning Support Assistants to work in primary schools across Swansea, supporting pupils from Nursery to Year 6.

This is a hands-on, rewarding role for people who enjoy being busy, building relationships and helping children succeed both inside and outside the classroom.

No two days are the same. One morning you could be supporting a Reception pupil with their phonics, later helping a Key Stage 2 child regain focus after becoming frustrated with a task. You might be delivering small group activities, supporting outdoor learning, assisting with classroom projects or providing one-to-one support for a pupil who needs additional encouragement throughout the day.

Schools are looking for people who bring energy, enthusiasm and positivity into the classroom every day.

What You'll Be Doing

Supporting teaching and learning across Nursery to Year 6 Building positive relationships with pupils and staff Delivering 1:1 and small group interventions Supporting pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) Working with children with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) Helping pupils develop confidence, independence and resilience Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies Encouraging engagement and participation in lessons Assisting with classroom activities, educational visits and school events Becoming a trusted, consistent adult presence for the pupils you support What Makes An Outstanding LSA?

The best LSAs aren't necessarily the most experienced.

They're the people who:

✅ Walk into a classroom with enthusiasm

✅ Build rapport with pupils quickly

✅ Stay calm when challenges arise

✅ Are proactive and willing to get involved

✅ Bring positivity and professionalism every day

✅ Understand the importance of consistency and patience

✅ Genuinely want children to succeed

Schools repeatedly tell us they value attitude, reliability and relationship-building skills just as much as previous classroom experience.
