About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly accomplished Principal Civil Engineer with extensive expertise in Water Resources to lead critical projects within their fully remote, international team. This senior role involves the strategic planning, design, and management of complex water management schemes, including flood defense, water supply, and wastewater treatment systems. You will be a key technical authority, driving innovation and ensuring the delivery of sustainable and resilient water infrastructure solutions across diverse geographical regions, all while operating from a remote setting that fosters focus and efficiency, and contributing to a global mission of water security.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership and strategic direction for water resources engineering projects, including hydrological analysis, hydraulic modeling, and infrastructure design.
- Develop and implement innovative solutions for water supply, wastewater management, and flood risk reduction, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.
- Lead client engagement, proposal development, and project execution, managing large-scale projects and multidisciplinary teams remotely.
- Conduct peer reviews of designs and technical reports, upholding the highest standards of engineering excellence and quality assurance.
- Mentor and develop a team of civil and environmental engineers, fostering a culture of technical expertise and continuous improvement within the virtual workspace.
Requirements
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) status with significant post-chartership experience in water resources management.
- Extensive experience in designing and delivering major water infrastructure projects, including dams, reservoirs, pipelines, and treatment facilities.
- Expertise in hydrological and hydraulic modeling software (e.g., HEC-RAS, InfoWorks, EPANET) and GIS applications.
- Strong understanding of environmental impact assessment, regulatory frameworks, and sustainable water management practices.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with a proven ability to lead teams remotely.
