About the Role
Our client is looking for a distinguished Principal Civil Engineer to spearhead their major infrastructure initiatives based in Newcastle upon Tyne . Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert technical leadership and strategic direction for complex civil engineering projects.
- Oversee the entire project lifecycle, including planning, design, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
- Develop and implement innovative engineering solutions to address complex site challenges and project requirements.
- Manage and mentor a team of civil engineers and technical staff, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, environmental, and quality standards throughout all project phases.
- Act as a key technical advisor to senior management and external stakeholders, representing the company professionally.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a relevant advanced technical qualification.
- A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in civil engineering, with significant experience in a principal or lead role.
- Demonstrated expertise in large-scale infrastructure projects (e.g., transportation, water, energy).
- Advanced proficiency in project management methodologies and relevant engineering software suites.
- Exceptional leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Professional Engineer (PE) or Chartered Engineer (CEng) accreditation is mandatory.
