About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Principal Industrial Engineer to lead transformative projects at their facility in Oxford . This senior role is responsible for driving operational excellence through the design and implementation of advanced manufacturing processes, efficiency improvements, and cost-reduction initiatives. You will provide expert technical guidance, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with senior leadership to shape the future of our production capabilities. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of industrial engineering principles, a visionary approach to problem-solving, and a proven ability to manage complex, large-scale projects that deliver significant, sustainable business impact, contributing to the company's reputation for innovation and efficiency in Oxford .
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the strategic development and implementation of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma programs to achieve significant operational improvements.
- Analyze complex production systems, supply chains, and logistical operations to identify opportunities for optimization and cost savings.
- Design, simulate, and implement state-of-the-art manufacturing processes, automation solutions, and facility layouts.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of industrial engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
- Manage high-impact projects from conception through completion, ensuring adherence to budget, scope, and timeline.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to drive collaborative innovation.
Requirements
- Master's degree or Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in industrial engineering , with a significant track record of leading major improvement projects.
- Expert-level knowledge of Lean Manufacturing , Six Sigma (Black Belt certification required), Theory of Constraints, and other advanced methodologies.
- Extensive experience with simulation software, advanced data analytics, and automation technologies.
- Exceptional strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
- Superior leadership, communication, and influencing skills, with the ability to drive change across an organization.
