About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly accomplished and innovative Principal Machine Learning Engineer to join their advanced research and development team in Reading . This senior role is pivotal in driving the development and deployment of state-of-the-art machine learning models that power intelligent features and data-driven products. You will lead complex projects, mentor junior engineers, and shape the ML strategy for the organization. The ideal candidate possesses a deep theoretical understanding of ML algorithms, extensive practical experience in building and deploying ML systems, and a passion for pushing the boundaries of artificial intelligence.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement advanced machine learning models and algorithms for various applications.
- Lead the end-to-end ML lifecycle, from data preprocessing and feature engineering to model training, evaluation, and deployment.
- Collaborate with data scientists, software engineers, and product managers to integrate ML solutions into products and services.
- Optimize ML models for performance, scalability, and efficiency in production environments.
- Mentor and guide junior machine learning engineers and data scientists.
- Stay abreast of the latest research and advancements in AI/ML and champion their adoption.
- Architect scalable and robust ML infrastructure and pipelines.
Requirements
- Ph.D. or Master's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related quantitative field.
- 7+ years of professional experience in machine learning engineering or a related role.
- Proven expertise in developing and deploying ML models using frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn.
- Strong understanding of statistical modeling, deep learning, and various ML algorithms.
- Experience with big data technologies and distributed computing frameworks (e.g., Spark, Hadoop).
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and MLOps practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
