About the Role

Our client is seeking an exceptional Principal Mechanical Engineer to lead critical projects within the renewable energy sector , based in or remotely supporting operations near Leeds . This senior role requires a deep understanding of mechanical design principles applied to large-scale energy infrastructure, including power generation and storage solutions. You will be instrumental in defining technical strategies, overseeing complex engineering challenges, and ensuring the successful delivery of major projects. Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert technical leadership and guidance on mechanical engineering aspects for major energy projects.
• Develop conceptual designs, feasibility studies, and detailed engineering specifications for energy systems and equipment.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Extensive experience (12+ years) in mechanical engineering, with a strong focus on the energy sector (renewables, power generation, oil & gas).
• Proven track record of leading large, complex engineering projects from inception to completion.
• In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems relevant to power generation, turbomachinery, and fluid dynamics.
• Expertise in relevant engineering software and simulation tools.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills for a remote-first engagement.
