About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Principal Mechanical Engineer to lead their HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) systems division in Glasgow . This senior role involves overseeing the design, development, and implementation of complex HVAC solutions for large-scale commercial and industrial projects. You will be the technical authority, driving innovation and ensuring the highest standards of efficiency and reliability. Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert technical leadership and guidance on all HVAC system design and engineering activities.
- Develop innovative and energy-efficient HVAC solutions for complex building projects.
- Oversee the creation of detailed design documentation, including P&IDs, schematics, and specifications, using CAD software .
- Conduct advanced performance analysis, including thermodynamic modeling and airflow simulations.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation for HVAC engineering tasks.
- Collaborate with architects, project managers, and construction teams to ensure seamless project execution and compliance.
- Mentor and develop junior engineers, fostering technical excellence within the team.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in HVAC or Building Services.
- Minimum of 12 years of progressive experience in mechanical engineering , with a strong focus on HVAC system design for large-scale projects.
- In-depth knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, psychrometrics, and building physics.
- Proficiency in industry-standard HVAC design software and simulation tools.
- Experience in project management and leading technical teams.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
