About the Role

Our client is seeking a distinguished Principal Power Systems Engineer to join their prestigious engineering team in Cambridge . This senior role is instrumental in designing, analyzing, and optimizing complex power systems for a variety of applications, including grid infrastructure and renewable energy integration. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, modeling, and analysis of complex power systems, ensuring reliability, stability, and efficiency.
• Develop technical specifications and perform detailed engineering studies for grid connections, power plant integration, and network upgrades.
• Oversee and conduct simulations using advanced power system analysis software (e.g., PSS/E, PowerFactory).
• Provide expert technical consultation and mentorship to junior engineers and project teams.
• Evaluate new technologies and methodologies for application in power system design and operation.
• Collaborate with clients, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders to ensure project success and compliance.
• Contribute to the development of strategic plans for grid modernization and renewable energy integration.

Requirements

• Master's or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, with a specialization in Power Systems.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in power systems engineering, covering design, analysis, and project management.
• Deep expertise in power flow, transient stability, short-circuit analysis, and protection systems.
• Proficiency with industry-standard power system simulation software and tools.
• Strong understanding of grid codes, regulatory requirements, and the integration of renewable energy sources.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, suitable for a senior, hybrid role.
