About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly accomplished Principal Process Engineer to join their team, working remotely to support their advanced operations based in Cambridge . This senior position is instrumental in driving technological innovation and process excellence across a portfolio of cutting-edge projects. You will be responsible for setting the technical agenda, solving the most challenging process engineering problems, and providing expert guidance to project teams. Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership and strategic direction for complex process design and development projects.
- Develop and implement innovative process solutions that enhance efficiency, sustainability, and product quality.
- Conduct rigorous process safety reviews, including HAZOPs and risk assessments, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations.
- Mentor and guide a team of process engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
- Collaborate with R&D, operations, and project management teams to ensure successful project execution from concept to completion.
- Troubleshoot complex operational issues and develop robust, long-term solutions.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry best practices to drive continuous improvement.
Requirements
- PhD or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
- 12+ years of extensive experience in process engineering, with a strong focus on design, scale-up, and optimisation.
- Proven expertise in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS) and advanced modelling techniques.
- Demonstrated experience in leading multidisciplinary teams and managing high-stakes projects.
- In-depth knowledge of process safety management (PSM) principles and regulatory frameworks.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking abilities.
