Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage multiple drug discovery projects from inception to preclinical candidate selection.
• Design and oversee in vitro and in vivo studies to assess compound efficacy, safety, and pharmacokinetics.
• Provide strategic direction and scientific expertise in areas such as target validation, assay development, and hit-to-lead optimization.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including medicinal chemists, biologists, pharmacologists, and toxicologists.
• Mentor and develop a team of research scientists and technicians, fostering a culture of scientific excellence and innovation.
• Contribute to the intellectual property portfolio through patent applications and scientific publications.

Requirements

• PhD in Pharmacology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a related life science discipline.
• A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in drug discovery within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
• Demonstrated success in leading drug discovery programs and delivering preclinical candidates.
• In-depth knowledge of key therapeutic areas and associated disease biology.
• Expertise in a range of preclinical pharmacology models and assay technologies.
