About the Role

Our client is seeking an accomplished Principal Scientist to spearhead innovative projects within their Drug Discovery division in the vibrant city of London . This pivotal role involves leading research initiatives from conception through to preclinical development, focusing on identifying and validating novel therapeutic targets. You will work within a state-of-the-art laboratory environment, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of biologists, chemists, and pharmacologists to accelerate the discovery of life-changing medicines. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and execution of complex biological experiments to identify and validate new drug targets.
• Develop and optimize in vitro and in vivo models for disease research and drug efficacy testing.
• Interpret experimental data, generate high-quality reports, and present findings to senior management and project teams.
• Manage and mentor a team of research associates and scientists, fostering their professional growth.
• Stay abreast of the latest scientific literature and technological advancements in the field of drug discovery.
• Contribute to the strategic planning and pipeline development of the R&D department.

Requirements

• PhD in Molecular Biology, Pharmacology, or a related life science discipline.
• Minimum of 8 years of post-doctoral research experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry, with a strong focus on drug discovery .
• Proven track record of successfully progressing drug candidates from target identification to preclinical stages.
• Expertise in various biological assays, cell culture techniques, and molecular biology methodologies.
• Experience with data analysis software and statistical methods relevant to biological research.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
