About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced and visionary Principal Scientist to lead their Immunology Research efforts. This is a remote-first position, allowing exceptional talent to contribute from anywhere in the UK. You will be responsible for driving the strategic direction of our immunology programs, identifying novel therapeutic targets, and overseeing the development of innovative immunomodulatory therapies. This senior role requires a deep scientific understanding of immune pathways and a proven ability to translate complex biological insights into actionable research strategies, fostering collaboration across dispersed scientific teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and execute the strategic research agenda for the immunology group.
- Design and lead complex research projects focused on understanding and manipulating immune responses for therapeutic benefit.
- Develop and validate novel assays to assess immune cell function, cytokine production, and immune-mediated pathways.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external academic partners to advance research programs.
- Publish research findings in high-impact journals and present at leading scientific conferences.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Immunology, Molecular Biology, or a related life science field.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in immunology research, with a strong focus on drug discovery and development.
- Demonstrated expertise in cellular immunology, immunochemistry, and flow cytometry.
- Proven track record of scientific leadership and successful project management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, crucial for effective remote collaboration.
