Principal Scientist - Pharmaceutical Research

About the Role

Our client is looking for an exceptional Principal Scientist to lead pioneering research efforts in pharmaceutical development, working fully remotely. This senior position is central to driving the discovery and optimization of novel drug candidates for unmet medical needs. You will leverage your extensive expertise in drug discovery, medicinal chemistry, and pharmacology to guide research strategy, mentor a talented team, and ensure the successful progression of projects from discovery through to clinical development. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and execution of research programs focused on identifying and developing new pharmaceutical agents.

• Develop and implement innovative strategies for target validation, lead optimization, and preclinical studies.

Requirements

• PhD in Chemistry, Pharmacology, Biochemistry, or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in the pharmaceutical industry with a focus on drug discovery.
• Demonstrated success in leading R&D projects and managing scientific teams.
• Deep understanding of drug discovery processes, including target identification, assay development, and lead optimization.
• Excellent knowledge of medicinal chemistry, pharmacokinetics, and pharmacodynamics.
• Exceptional communication, leadership, and strategic thinking skills.
