About the Role
Our client is seeking a distinguished Principal Scientist with extensive experience in Structural Biology to join their innovative research team in a fully remote capacity. This senior role is critical for advancing our understanding of molecular mechanisms underlying disease and for guiding drug discovery efforts. You will leverage state-of-the-art structural biology techniques, including X-ray crystallography, Cryo-EM, and NMR spectroscopy, to elucidate the three-dimensional structures of key biological targets. Your work will provide fundamental insights that drive rational drug design and therapeutic development. Working remotely, you will collaborate with a global network of scientists, contributing your expertise to high-impact research programs and shaping the future of our client's scientific endeavors.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and execute complex structural biology projects utilizing techniques such as X-ray crystallography and Cryo-EM.
- Determine and analyze high-resolution structures of therapeutic targets and protein-ligand complexes.
- Develop and implement novel methodologies for protein expression, purification, and structural characterization.
- Collaborate closely with computational chemists and biologists to integrate structural data into drug design strategies.
- Mentor junior scientists and contribute to the strategic direction of the structural biology platform.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Structural Biology, Biochemistry, Biophysics, or a related field.
- 10+ years of hands-on experience in solving protein structures using advanced experimental techniques.
- Expertise in Cryo-Electron Microscopy (Cryo-EM) and/or X-ray crystallography.
- Proven track record of scientific publications in high-impact journals.
- Strong leadership abilities and experience in managing research projects and teams remotely.
